Due to unforeseen circumstances, the current economic climate and how long the credit crunch is predicted to last the Whitley Bay Festival of Motorcycles 2009 will not be taking place.

The directors of the festival regret having to make this statement and are already planning the return of the festival in 2010.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who contributed towards the successful staging of this event despite the numerous hurdles placed in front of us – you know who you are. And to the detractors – we know who you are – we will be back and it will be bigger and better.

In the next few weeks photos of 2008 will be placed on the avalon website and these will be available for purchase for a nominal fee.
